SHARE was established in 1998 by local families who knew home educating would take a village. That village has grown to now offer a Christ-centered program designed to support, challenge, and engage home educated children and their families. We begin each day with a time of devotion and prayer before starting our studies, and continue to emphasize a Christian worldview throughout the day. SHARE meets every Tuesday in Columbia. SHARE Director

Dawn Costello
Hello and welcome to our SHARE Homeschool Tutorial website! As one of the founding members of SHARE, I have worn many hats throughout SHARE’s 28-year existence. I have homeschooled my four children with the help of SHARE, and am now a grandparent to two current SHARE students. I have also served as a SHARE helper and as a teacher for the past eleven years. And now I am taking on the role of your new SHARE director. I pray that my lengthy experiences as a SHARE parent, teacher, and veteran homeschooler will serve you well as director. Homeschooling is quite a commitment and SHARE was such a valuable source of support and encouragement to me and I want it to be the same for you. It is my desire for SHARE to continue to provide our students with an environment where they are encouraged and challenged to be their best selves, where they experience kindness and Christian fellowship, and where they can have fun, hands-on learning and make lasting and nurturing friendships. Over the years our size has greatly increased, the class offerings have changed a bit, and we’ve gained and lost teachers as their life stages progressed, but the dedication and love poured into our students remain our solid foundation. At SHARE, we seek to not only partner with you in the academics of homeschooling, but also come alongside you as friends and mentors. Chances are, whatever your situation or question, one of our staff members has dealt with it in some form or fashion. Although we might not always provide you an answer, we will willingly share our experiences and will ALWAYS lend you a loving and listening ear!

I am the mother of two boys who are now in college, and was blessed to homeschool them from kindergarten through their high school years. I have also taught Bible classes for all ages over the years. Helping children learn and understand new ideas is something I truly enjoy, and I am grateful for every opportunity to encourage students as they learn and grow. I love spending time outdoors—whether hiking, camping, or simply taking a walk—and I cherish every opportunity to be with family.

I attended SHARE from 1st grade through sixth and am a homeschool graduate.
